Psalm 103:1–5
“Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise His holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all His benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Thanksgiving is an invitation to pause and reflect on the goodness God has poured into our lives. As I read this passage, it continually encourages my heart not to forget any of the Lord’s blessings. When the pace of life becomes too fast, it is easy for pressure, worries, busyness, and endless tasks to fill our minds, causing us to overlook God’s quiet and steady care each day.
This Scripture helps us see that God’s grace is far greater than what our eyes can perceive. He forgives us so that our lives are no longer bound by the past. He heals us and restores strength to our hearts after seasons of brokenness. He delivers us from danger so that we can walk through each day in safety. He surrounds us with love and compassion so we may feel His care even in uncertain times. He provides for our needs so that our ordinary days can be filled with contentment.
Often, God’s grace does not appear in dramatic ways but is revealed in the smallest details: the peace we feel when we wake up in the morning, the strength that remains after a long day, the people who accompany us, the hope rediscovered after hardship, and the heart that continues to be preserved during difficult moments. Every year of calm, protection, and peace is a gift from His abundant goodness.
On this Thanksgiving, let us pray together:
“Lord, I choose to remember Your benefits. Because of Your goodness, Your compassion, and all that You have done in my life, I give You thanks.”
May gratitude become the light in our hearts, enabling us to see God’s hand in the days ahead and to experience His love in the ordinary moments of life.
May the Lord bless all brothers, sisters, and our families and friends with peace, joy, and a grateful heart.
